1. Home Visit

After you call CAP, a Debt Coach and Support Worker from the local CAP Debt Centre will visit you in your own home. They will explain CAP's service, show you a DVD and advise exactly what paperwork they require.

2. An effective budget

Our trained debt counsellors at Head Office will work out a realistic budget that prioritises your essential bills. Your local Debt Coach will then visit you again to explain the budget, any options or choices you may have in terms of working your way out of debt, and what payments you need to make. Our CAP HQ team will then negotiate affordable payments with each creditor and stop interest and charges where possible.

3. CAP PLAN

If you choose to work with us, a CAP Plan is set up for you. This allows some money to be saved for future or current needs, and some to be paid direct to your creditors. You will need to make one monthly payment into your CAP Plan to cover the savings and creditor payments. CAP will then distribute this to your creditors on your behalf.

4. CONTINUOUS SUPPORT

After your Budget visit, if you decide to work with us, we will contact all of your creditors. Your Debt Coach will introduce you to a team at Head Office who will support you on your journey towards becoming debt free. Our Head Office team of trained counsellors have experience in tackling even the most difficult cases. They'll be able to advise you on the best way to deal with your debt problems and manage the case for you.

5. Debt Free!

We see over 2500 of our clients go debt free each year. Working with us will help you become one of them! it might be a difficult journey at times but we'll be there to encourage and advise you every step of the way.

Together, to know God
and make Him known.

Foodbank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

In York there are a number of Foodbank locations supported by local churches. York Community Church hosts a Foodbank every Friday morning from 10.30am-12.30pm at Cornerstone (previoulsy St George’s Methodist Church), Millfield Lane, York YO10 3AP.

For details about the Foodbank and how you can be helped to access this support visit the York Foodbank website: https://york.foodbank.org.uk.
