Alpha Course Programme, Spring 2010

The Alpha course addresses key issues relating to the Christian faith. It is for everyone - people who want to find out about Christianity as well as Christians (of any denomination) wishing to brush up on the basics. Alpha sessions typically consist of a shared meal followed by a short talk and a small-group discussion.

Our current Alpha course is run by the York Community Church jointly with the Holy Trinity Church, Heworth, and Heworth Methodist Church.

All Thursday evening sessions take place in Heworth Methodist Church. They start at 7.15pm, to finish by 9.15pm.

Thursday 11 February: Why and how should I read the Bible?
Thursday 25 February: Why and how do I pray?
Saturday 27 February, 10am-4pm, at Quiet Garden near Sheriff Hutton: Who is the Holy Spirit and what does he do? How can I be filled with the Spirit?
Thursday 4 March: How can I resist evil?
Thursday 11 March: How does God guide us?
Thursday 18 March: Why is there suffering? Does God heal today?
Thursday 25 March: What next?
