INTRODUCING ALPHA

The Alpha course is designed for people who aren't churchgoers (and those who go but don’t quite understand it all !!) and each course is open to everyone who would like to attend.

As a course, Alpha attracts a diverse range of guests of different ages and backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints. Over 7,000 churches are currently running the Alpha course across the UK in rural and urban settings, including every major UK city.

At YCC we enjoy to work with other local churches to host these evenings of debate and discovery. Each evening begins at 7.30pm with a meal, a time to chat, catch up with new friends and unwind from the day. At about 8.15pm we’ll have a talk and follow this with the opportunity to discuss the topic in smaller groups. By 9.30pm it’s time to say, “goodbye”.

The course lasts approximately 10 weeks with a break half-way through, plus a special Alpha Day (Saturday 3rd March, 2011 from 10am to 4pm) which gives us the opportunity to get away, chat and relax.

 

 

If you want to attend the next Alpha Course just come along on Thursday 19th January for 7.15pm at Heworth Methodist Church. If for some reason you want to attend but can’t make the first meeting, don’t worry, come the following week. If you think you’ll arrive late ... no problem, ....
